We are devoted to making each player meet his or her greatest potential. Our coaches have extensive backgrounds and the knowledge to help improve the ability of tennis players at all levels. Through clinics, junior programs and individual teaching, players are able to get the necessary attention to exceed their personal goals.

Erick Chall

Director of Tennis

Erick was raised in the Clearwater area and started his tennis career playing during high school. He then began working for Killearn Country Club as a Tennis Professional while achieving his degree in Sports Management for Florida State.

Erick has revitalized numerous tennis programs at a variety of clubs in the area.

He has over 20 years of experience leading tennis programs and developing  new approaches to tennis training. He has a great passion for tennis and loves to teach. His teaching programs teach players how to rise to the highest level through a strong work ethic and determination. Players learn the importance of combining skill with athletic endurance and strength. Erick is USPTA & USRSA Certified as well as a Certified National Tournament Director.

Jorge Bernal

Head Pro

Jorge Bernal is originally from La Paz, Bolivia and grew up locally since 1987. “My father played tennis, my grandfather played tennis and it was passed on to me that’s how I fell in love with the game.”

Jorge was a top ten Florida men’s open player competing nationally and Florida ranked number one 5.0 player. Currently Jorge is a 5.0 USTA rated player. Additionally, he has served as a sparing and practice partner to many ATP and WTA players.

Since 2008 he has extensive experience coaching elite nationally ranked juniors and advanced players. He has also served as head coach to numerous adult USTA teams. He’s currently USPTA Certified and PTR Pickleball Certified.

Matt Bilger

Tennis Pro

Matt is originally from Baltimore, MD, where he holds over 30 state and mid-Atlantic championships in singles and doubles. Matt is a 2 time 4.5 national champion, as well as a 5.0 national champion and 2 time finalist. He was ranked #3 in men’s 35s doubles and #7 in 35s singles in the country. He is a 2 time Talbert cup champion representing the mid-Atlantic against national competition.

Matt has taught all ages from beginners, to collegiate aspiring professionals to recreational adults. He was the assistant coach at the univeristy of maryland where the team competed for conference and national championships.

In his free time matt enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, as well as playing tennis. He is thrilled to be a part of the family at seminole and is looking forward to working with everyone.

Eddie Dechow

Tennis Pro

Eddie was originally raised in Indiana, where he won the High School State Championship in 2005. He went on to play Division 1 tennis at IUPUI University and received an All-Conference award in 2009. After college Eddie went to further his tennis career by going to compete on the ATP Tour. He trained at Rick Macci Tennis Academy were he endured vigorous and intense training that molded Eddie into the player he is today.
From all his playing history Eddie has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that he loves to share with his clients, and is passionate about getting all his clients to improve their tennis games to their own greatest potentials. Eddie has 18 years of teaching experience, and is USPTA Certified.
Since 2016 he has lived in Florida permanently and has been furthering his teaching career. He’s taught all levels from beginners, to advanced juniors, all level adults, and touring professionals. One of his first jobs when he moved here was at Saddlebrook Resort where he got the unique experience of being a sparing partner for John Isner amongst other touring pros at the time.
Besides playing tennis, Eddie has a list full of hobbies and things he like to do in his free time. These consist of golf, bowling, Pickleball, karaoke, and any kind of sport-like activities. He also enjoys cuddling with his French bulldog, “Uno”. Eddie is so excited to be apart of the Seminole Lake family, and looks forward to enhancing your tennis abilities!
